The winners of the gamescom awards 2025 have been announced: On Friday, August 22, the coveted trophies were presented in a total of 19 categories at the gamescom studio powered by IGN.

Jury and audience alike agree: the big winner of gamescom 2025 is Resident Evil Requiem. The horror-survival game from Capcom Entertainment received awards for Best Visuals, Best Audio, Most Epic, and Best Sony PlayStation Game. Together with the additional titles Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Capcom Entertainment also secured the trophy for Best Lineup at gamescom 2025.

Ubisoft also celebrated multiple victories: Anno 117: Pax Romana earned the award for Best PC Game as well as the jury prize for Best Booth. Ubisoft’s booth in the business area additionally impressed the jury, earning Best Business Booth. Fans were particularly enthusiastic about the Pokémon booth in the entertainment area, which was honored with Best Booth (Consumer Award).

The trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong thrilled the community and won the Best Trailer award. The indie title Tiny Bookshop was recognized in the Games for Impact category for its positive message about building and nurturing a community of reading enthusiasts. The cozy game Hela, inspired by the breathtaking nature of Scandinavia, received two awards: Most Entertaining and Most Wholesome.

The HEART OF GAMING Award, the jury’s special prize, was presented this year to the gamescom artist area. Here, artists showcase their game-inspired works and share their art with the countless fans of gaming culture. The award recognizes the outstanding contribution of artist alleys in supporting independent creators and fostering direct interaction with fans.
