Good reasons for gamescom 2021!
In 2021, as in the previous year, gamescom was held exclusively digitally and free of charge for all gamescom fans. In 2020, the first digital gamescom celebrated numerous successes: over 94 million video views across all formats and channels, over 50 million unique users from 180 countries, and 370 partners from 44 countries. To build on this, the digital offering has been further expanded.

- Planning security
We were once again focusing on a purely digital gamescom this year and, with sufficient lead time, were able to offer the gaming community an even stronger online event at the end of August 2021.
- gamescom now: new & better
The gamescom now content hub was completely relaunched and made even more attractive with numerous, additional features for fans and partners.
- gamescom: Opening Night Live with Geoff Keighley
Once again this year, gamescom was opened by the spectacular show with Geoff Keighley. Several world premieres and news about the most anticipated games awaited you.
- gamescom epix
In 2021, we wanted to transfer even more unique gamescom atmosphere into the digital world. With gamescom epix, you were able to immerse yourself in the gamescom universe even before the event and take on epic quests together with the community.
- Packed show program
gamescom fans looked forward to a packed program from the start of gamescom: Opening Night Live on Wednesday evening (August 25) through Friday evening (August 27), with some highlights and activities continued to run through the weekend. Also this year, our partner IGN produced the English shows gamescom studio and gamescom: Awesome Indies.
- Digital devcom
devcom, the first port of call for developers and their ecosystem, featured an extensive online program and offered the games industry a central business platform.
- gamescom congress
The gamescom congress, Europe's leading conference around the social, economic and cultural potential of games, was once again held entirely digitally this year on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.
