In the Debatt(l)e Royale - the political arena at gamescom - top politicians once again held a roundtable to discuss and debate the current issues concerning games and digital politics.
Paul Ziemiak (CDU), Lars Klingbeil (SPD), Linda Teuteberg (FDP), Jörg Schindler (Die Linke) and Michael Kellner (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) discussed the top issues of this digital generation. These include the main topics of the gamescom congress 2020 "digital learning" and "Together on the Internet".
Hosted by YouTube star Peter Smits (PietSmiet) and e-sports presenter Phylicia Whitney (Flitzi), the Debatt(l)e Royale was broadcasted live from the representation of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Berlin.
The Debatt(l)e Royale was broadcasted on Friday, 28 August 2020 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on gamescom now, the gamescom content hub, on www.gamescom-congress.de as well as on the "PietSmiet" and "Tinkerleo" Twitch channels.
Viewers could not only ask questions in advance via social media, but also commented and asked questions live during the discussion.
The well-known live streamer Tinkerleo brought in the most important reactions from the net to the community bar in the studio. The hashtags #gcc20, #DebattleRoyale and #gamescom2020 were used to get involved in the online discussions.
